Adele Pratt RN

Completing her Nurse training at the University of Manchester Adele went on to work in the CCU, ICU and a Rehabilitation ward at Skegness Hospital. Adele became a Christian at the age of 14. Wanting to work with the church & the community, Parish Nursing as given her the opportunity to use her gifts & skills to do just that.

At Parish Nursing we care for those with or without a faith.

  • Providing information on healthcare topics, both as one to one and in a group
  • Help you to understand your disease or condition.
  • Identify needs for self help support groups and develop or co-ordinate them.
  • Take your blood pressure.
  • Refer on to your GP & other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
  • Act as an advocate at doctors appointments.
  • Provide practical support through a voluntary team of workers.
  • Offer support and a listening ear.

All nurses are regulated by the Nursing & Midwifery Council & work under its code of practice. If you would like to know more about this, please ask your parish nurse.

One aspect of this is a code of confidentiality, which means anything you tell your nurse will be kept private, unless you are being harmed, or are harming someone else. Any written information the parish nurse holds about you will be kept locked away.

Although your parish nurse is employed by the church, the details they hold for you for your care will not appear on any data base or mailing list that the church may use for publicity or fund-raising without your permission. The church as a data protection policy in place.

Not only does Parish Nursing hold their regular clinic, but  during the year Guest speakers are invited.
